Chris has had an obsession with film since he was 12. At 17 during A-Level Media Studies he was finally able to use a camera and started to realise his dream. After Sixth form college he went to Panico Film School in London. Over the six weekends Panico operated, he attended a series of lectures that gave him a good grounding in the filmmaking process as a whole. The lecturers were seasoned, experienced and successful professionals, the classes were to the point and very insightful. He really enjoyed the time there and it inspired him to work to a high standard, as each job could be your last.

After Panico, Chris made the short film 'Prologue'. The film itself was a mixed experience which gave a lot of food for thought. A year later, he enrolled at The Surrey Institute of Art and Design to study BA Hons Film & Video. During his first year he was able to sneak into a lighting master class with Jack Cardiff BSC. His knowledge and presence left a huge impression on Chris and a subsequent thirst for more knowledge about lighting.

During the summer break Chris attended a short Cinematography course at The London College of Printing. His tutor Mark Duffield helped Chris find his potential to use light for film and video. Over the six weeks the course ran Chris built up a good reputation as a 16mm camera operator and loved every second of shooting.

Half way through the second year at University Chris decided to take a break to pursue a documentary idea. He also filmed interviews of musicians for music magazine, “Between the Grooves”. These experiences during his time out have became invaluable.

Chris returned to The Surrey Institute of Art and Design in 2005 to complete his studies. During his time there he completed five shorts as Director of Photography. Also thanks to his Cinematography tutors, Noski Deville and Chris Pinnock, Chris was lucky enough to have a master class with Billy Williams BSC. On his summer break in 2005 Chris shot the music video 'In Our Hood', which can now be viewed on Channel U.

Graduating in 2006 has given Chris the freedom to continue working on his own projects and those with Silvertip Films.

Chris is set to shoot a new short film as Director of Photography this autumn teaming up again with Tim Berry (Dir: Baby Girl, 2005) of Focus Features. Chris has now started to teach workshops on how to use PD 170's and Z1-E's.
