Geoff Cockwill

Director, Producer, Editor, Cameraman

As the founder and Director of Silvertip Films, Geoff has a hand in every aspect of a production undertaken by the company.  

Geoff developed his passion for filmmaking at college and then the renowned Surrey Institute of Art and Design where he graduated their Film and Video degree with honors before starting Silvertip Films in 2004.

Experienced in many areas of filmmaking and editing, Geoff has directed over 100 videos in recent years, from music videos to corporate promos to live events and actor reels.

Previous work included freelance stints with various production companies in London working on a range of projects including adverts and tv shows. 

Geoff works extensively with Premiere CS5 to edit as well as After Effects and Photoshop and has experience with both Final Cut Pro and Avid editing programs. 

Geoff is experienced using the Canon 5D for filming as well as the Sony PMW-100, Sony Z1, Sony EX1 and EX3.

Geoff is influenced by a wide range of media from television shows like Doctor Who and Buffy the Vampire Slayer through to directors like James Cameron and Joss Whedon as well as various music videos and video games and comic books.

Geoff’s enthusiasm for every project is palpable and translates through to the crew on the project as well as the clients and then onto the screen.
