Pete Wallington
Director of Photography
After leaving university with a degree in Human Genetics, Pete Wallington set up and ran a very successful wedding videography business for 18 months under the name of "Best Man Productions". This venture gave him invaluable experience of filming live video and audio, as well as providing the finance needed to accumulate a production kit capable of shooting high quality HDV video.
Pete moved on to a wider range of projects and as a freelance camera operator and cinematographer has gained vast experience around the world, shooting live music at various venues including outdoor festivals, staged music videos both on location and in studio, documentary and narrative films.
Pete's real passion lies in shooting and lighting for narrative film, and over the last few years he has amassed an extensive and varied experience from simple one-actor microshorts, to greenscreen special effects, through to night shoots in deep dark cemeteries and the associated problems of generators and outdoor lighting. Pete recently completed work on his first 16mm film as cinematographer, where he also loaded and operated the ArriSR3 camera, and he hopes to be able to work on more film-based projects in the near future. Projects that Pete has worked on have screened in festivals around the world, including Cannes, and repeatedly on national TV channel ITV4 under the Cobravision banner, including a number of shorts which he produced and directed himself.
Pete is also a keen photographer and has enjoyed his many experiences taking production stills for various film shoots. He is also developing his skill base through his work with the revolutionary RED camera.
