SWIFT it MAJOR - 'X-Factor / Brothers in Arms'
Different from his previous video with us, "X-Factor / Brothers in Arms" is more grimy, dirty and rough around the edges to reflect the illegal tv broadcast of the "Swift Factor" show.
A spoof on the current X-Factor craze and the abundance of manufactured performers, the main narrative thread focuses on Swift it Major, H20 and QT 2Hype as judges of the acts with Jessica the presenter interviewing each one before and after their performance. We see the misfortunes which befall each act before Swift it Major has had enough and decides to step up to the mic!
Alongside his brothers Ron and QT 2Hype, the song changes style for the second half, being a mash up with "Brothers in Arms" in which Ron takes the lead vocal.
Shot on location in North London, the video was lit to appear like a tv show for the narrative sections with lots of lens flare and as many lights in shot as possible coupled with smoke and crowd members to give atmosphere. The performance shots were lit less elaborately to give a different feel to them.
Post production work included a tv style effect to the narrative shots alongside After Effects animated logos and names and picture grading to bleach out the narrative and give a slightly more flim look to the performance underneath the grain overlayed on it.
