Britain's only (as far as we know) Alice tribute band, ALIKE COOPER, brought their full show to the Theatre Royal Margate on Sunday 29 October 2006.
We filmed the full 1 hour 40 minute show, and edited it down to 60 minutes to showcase highlights of the theatrical show and show the band performing Cooper's classic hits including School's Out, Feed My Frankenstein and the one you can see here, Welcome To My Nightmare.
We filmed across four HDV Cameras utilising handheld and tripod angles and one roaming the venue; the video captures the full extravaganza of the show and creates a dynamic and enjoyable piece to accompany the band's show.
He was the original lord of shock rock, treating audiences to a nightmare vision of monsters, snakes, psychotic nurses and even his own execution while the likes of Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie were still mutating in their mothers' wombs. There is only one ALICE COOPER... ...Or is there?
This is not your average tribute act - there are no half measures with an Alike Cooper show. It’s a full-on theatrical rock experience, which includes a psycho nurse, an electric chair, a straight jacket and the numerous other props and costume changes which make an Alice Cooper performance so memorable, as well, of course, as faithful versions of some of the best songs in rock history.
Ah, the songs. Amongst all the carnage, that's what Alice has above all the imitators he's spawned over the years. Everyone knows 'Schools Out', of course - but there are plenty of other classic anthems: 'Elected', 'No More Mr Nice Guy', 'Poison', 'Under My Wheels', 'Be My Lover' and 'Billion Dollar Babies' to name just a few. There are gentle ballads ('Only Women Bleed') and grand spooky epics like 'The Ballad Of Dwight Fry'. Yes, Alike Cooper have one hell of a back catalogue to choose from - and their hero is still churning out albums!
