White Sunday
White Sunday were looking for a visually simple and clean yet strong video and took a hint of inspiration from some of the most memorable media campaigns of recent years for the style. We shot them in a London studio with a clean white background and then turned everything black and white in the edit and adjusted the colouring to increase the depth of the blacks.
This video for 'If You've Got Soul' was the second video made during the shoot for the band, with the first - 'My Love It Let Me Down' - shot very differently. 'If You've Got Soul' is a rollicking rock n' roll track and as such we shot in an almost live style with lots of movement from the band and the cameras as well. The editing is quick, to the beat and utilizes various tricks to reflect the sonics of the song. The other video for the band is for a slower song which features more composed shots and frames on the band and no use of colour at all. Splashes of colour were added to spice up the video and prevent it from looking too visually similar to the other video and to reflect some of the chord changes and riffs of the song.
