Navin Kundra - "Zinda Hoon"
Full length music video for Navin and his club remix of "Zinda Hoon". Shot on location in Coventry in 2007 and specifically in Lava Ignite nightclub.
The narrative of the video is a Bollywood inspired tragi-romance - which you'll need to watch the video to find out more! The video treatment was deliberately designed to be different from the usual videos in this musical arena and to have a strong storyline to accompany the visuals.
Navin developed an idea for the narrative of the video which could cohesively work in the performance element without it being a separate part of the video and allowed the focus of the video to be set in the club, as befitting the track. The narrative of the track fits with the lyrics and Navin decided to feature heavily in the storyline rather than relying upon an actor, giving the video a far more personal feel.
We filmed on HDV for this project and utilized a track and dolly to obtain many of the shots, as we wanted a smooth, gliding feel to the camerawork. We also used steadicam-style shots for many of the scenes to create a free flowing, smooth style to the video. We shot entirely on tripod or track and dolly - no handheld in sight here!
We used natural lighting during the daytime scenes, and then for the night set shots used an on-camera light to bring out the performers. Inside the club we used their lighting to our benefit to recreate the club feel and filled each scene with additional lighting to bring everyone out.
Grading was carried out upon completion of the edit to bring the videos look into line with the artists specification of rich, vibrant colours and a sleek look to the video.
