Major - 'Jump'
Major Haffa wanted a vibrant and dynamic video for his debut single "Jump".
A performance was shot on location at The Cockpit in Leeds and featured extensive use of their in-house lighting set up - flashing, moving lights, lights reacting to the beat and so on. We used a track and dolly to generate movement to create energy around the chorus of the song and we also did some unorthodox shaky camerawork to generate more energy on the video as well!
The narrative for the video needed to reflect Major's urban roots as well as the tracks energy and so a simple chase storyline was created which features Major being pursued by an increasing number of people...what do they want? Watch and find out!
For this narrative shoot, we used a steadicam to keep up, smoothly, with the runners and allow for more movement in our shots rather than tripoded camerawork. We also carried out a lot of handheld, up close, camerawork with crash zooms and shake to enhance to feeling of the energy in the chase.
The final edit was graded by Freehand Graphics to enhance to blue feel to the performance and give the narrative element a dirtier, more urban look complete with added grain and a blurred vignette around the scene edges.
