Springboard Project

We’ve been producing video content for childrens charity Springboard Project and seen a great video success story…

Having seen some of the other content Silvertip Films had produced for local businesses giving them video success, Horsham and Crawley based children’s charity Springboard Project emailed to ask if we would make a video for them – their first in the charities 25 year history.

I immediately said yes – I take my son to Springboard so the centre is close to my heart and I was keen to get involved and help them with video for the first time.

The two centres offer play and fun for everyone – fully inclusive, accessible play for all children and their families. Both houses have soft play rooms, sensory rooms, large gardens, toy rooms, kitchen and much more. They offer day trips out for short breaks for children and have a very active schedule in this area.

First of all, here’s a short video we made which shows some of the fun and play kids can get up to at the centre’s…

I met with Horsham Service Delivery Manager Vickie and Crawley SDM Su to talk through what they were looking for and what I could bring to the table, we immediately hit it off and decided to undertake a number of projects.

The first would be a documentary which looked back at the history of the Springboard Project and it’s plans for the future. This would feature interviews with prominent members of the team from today and back in the day.

Alongside that we shot a series of videos featuring their patron, children’s entertainer Tomfoolery talking about some of their upcoming activities and events including the 25th birthday party.

After that, we shot a number of videos with presenter Emily Beach talking about membership plans, fundraising and volunteering and events like the Lego club run in Horsham.

We also shot a pair of extremely successful centre walkthrough videos which were launched on Facebook. The first, for Horsham, went out live and the second for Crawley, was posted a week after.

The videos have, as of mid-Sept 2017, been viewed 5.4K times for Horsham and 9.6K times for Crawley. Both videos were ‘displayed’ to well over double those numbers as well. The interaction and engagement on both was extraordinarily high and led to new memberships being taken up in both centres and in the case of the smaller Crawley house, three closures due to max capacity being reached!

We're live with presenter Emily Beach for a whirlwind tour of our Horsham centre – find out what play and fun we have inside!

Emily Beach goes live from Horsham Springboard

Despite some wifi induced lag on the Horsham video, both of these videos show the power of Facebook live and Facebook video in general when engaging and well-shot content is created. Video success is great to see online.

We have further plans for ongoing video content for Springboard so look out for more of this in the future. It’s been great working with a brilliant team of people, helping a worthwhile cause benefit from the power of video and spreading it’s name and message further out there for more to see.
