April 2018 Updates

We’ve got a packed schedule at the moment, with a wide range of projects on the go from corporate video and video marketing content production to live event coverage, motion graphic animation work and more.

First of all, we are very excited to announce that we will be taking part in the 2019 Horsham District Year of Culture event – this is a year long celebration of art, music, dance and more within the Horsham area.

We will be putting on the Silvertip Films Film Festival whereby we will be accepting entries for a range of different categories, shot within the district and there’ll be awards and prizes on offer and a screening event as well. More news on this to follow in the coming weeks!

For the fifth year in a row, we have covered the Sony World Photography Awards, filming the event, awards and exhibitions to provide footage for Latin American journalists and broadcasters for use in their TV shows back home.

We’ve been at St Catherine’s Hospice to film case study interviews with users of the hospices’ services, we’ve also been out filming presenter showreels with Presenters Inc and we have been shooting the weekly vlog for the District Post newspaper which has been growing it’s audience online with each week.

We are shooting some behind the scenes footage for a singer / songwriter soon and making plans to shoot a music video for a rap duo and another for a female singer as well – good to be back shooting music content!

Animation work includes an explainer video for a software company, an unboxing animation for an 80s hair metal act and some animated characters based on an illustrators characters which will interact in live action footage.

We’re also heading out to film two shows for the 2018 Champions of Magic tour and looking forward to seeing the new tricks the magicians have for us this time!

We regularly do Facebook Live videos with updates on our workload, special guests, questions and answers and more, if you want to get involved, head over to www.facebook.com/silvertipfilms to check out when the next live event is!

  1. Hi
Can you give me some information about the film festival and criteria. Is there a student entry or short entry? Can it be a film shot in Surrey? Is there a photographic section?

    • Hi Tania

More information on the film festival will be released soon – keep an eye on our site and our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/silvertipfilms) so check back soon for full details.

We will likely have an under 21s category for younger filmmakers / students.

Right now, it’s most likely films will need to be shot in West Sussex as it’s the Horsham District Year of Culture so needs to connect to that but this may be flexible.

Thanks for your interest and we hope to see you get involved with the festival! Geoff
